The 3rd Pastry & Bakery Workshop was successfully held on 19th June 2025 at YMBA Hall, Kandy. The main sponsor of the workshop was Pyramid Wilmar Oils & Fats (Pvt) Ltd. Their generous support contributed significantly to the success of the event. The event witnessed the participation of over 160 attendees, making it a highly successful and impactful program for the Central Province Chamber. Mr. H. M. G. Dayarathne, Director & Treasurer of CCICP, and Mr. Kelum Jayasena, Secretary, represented the Chamber at the event. The workshop focused on practical techniques in modern pastry and bakery production. Participants engaged in hands-on demonstrations and product knowledge sharing. It served as a valuable platform for networking and skills development among aspiring bakers and entrepreneurs. The event was marked as a highly successful initiative by the Chamber, reflecting its ongoing commitment to supporting SME development and vocational skills training in the Central Province.

01-Jul-2025Enrich MSME 2025 Business Forum – A Resounding Success The Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Central Province (CCICP), in collaboration with Indra Traders and The Kandy Mist by Cinnamon, successfully organized the Enrich MSME 2025 Business Forum on Tuesday, 24th June 2025 at Hotel Kandy Mist, commencing at 9:00 a.m. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 80 members and non-members, reflecting a strong interest and engagement from the regional business community. The forum was graced by the presence of Mr. Jagath Dissanayake, Chairman of CCICP; Mr. Azam Ameer, Senior Vice Chairman; and several other esteemed Board Directors of the Chamber. A key highlight of the event was the inspiring address delivered by Dr.Sarath Abeykoon, Governor of the Central Province, whose insights added immense value to the forum. The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Mrs. Shirley Jayawardena, Senior Director of CCICP, who expressed sincere gratitude to all participants, resource persons, and organizing partners for their contributions to the event’s success. The Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Central Province (CCICP), in collaboration with Pan Asia Bank and the Inland Revenue Department, successfully organized a Tax Awareness and SME Business Loan Opportunity Session on Thursday, 29th May 2025 at Hotel Neits, Talwatte, Kandy, commencing at 9:00 a.m. The event drew the participation of 60 members and non-members, reflecting strong interest and engagement from the business community. The session was graced by Mr. Jagath Dissanayake, Chairman of CCICP; Mr. Keerthi Bandara, Past President; other esteemed Board Directors of CCICP; as well as Mr. Piyal Attanayake, Regional Manager of Pan Asia Bank, along with other Branch Managers. A key highlight of the event was the Tax Awareness Session conducted by Mr. W.D.N. Chandralal, Deputy Commissioner of the Inland Revenue Department, Kandy, who provided valuable insights into tax regulations and compliance relevant to SMEs. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. H.T.K. Karunadasa, Senior Director of CCICP, who expressed gratitude to all participants, resource persons, and organizing partners for their contributions to the event’s success.
